Ford Commercial Line of Credit Application Redesign

Project Overview

A Commercial Line of Credit (CLOC) allows Ford’s commercial customers to carry an open line of credit for purchasing company vehicles as needed. The CLOC application began as a DocuSign form. After about a year, an in house application was quickly created without any input from design perspective.

Due to the success of the CLOC Application (US), we have expanded to the United Kingdon, Canada, and Germany. Each country has it’s own experience with both desktop and mobile versions. I worked closely with translators from each country to create a seamless and natural experience for all user

My Role:

I am responsible for leading the design in ongoing iterations of the Commercial Line of Credit Application.

Research: I worked with Product Owners to understand their concerns and questions. I tested the application out on my own and I observed others on my team use the application in order to understand the questions I needed answered so that I could communicate them to the researcher on this project.

Design: I used principles of design and first level observations to make the first few iterations that would clean the application up at a high level. Based on the research results, I made changes to the process which has increased productivity. Form Completion is up 20 percent and it Form Completion time is down 4 minutes.

Interactive Progress Bar for tracking progress and allowing quick navigation.

Dealer Located Redirect to dealer instead of customer simply dropping off

Financial Document Upload A precise and easy way to ensure all required documents are uploaded. Increases productivity and prevents our internal team from having to contact the user.

Mobile Version

Personal Guarantor Option to add a personal guarantor, has the potential to prevent an extra call to the customer.
